LONGUEUIL — Five young people aged up to 20 were arrested in connection with the murder of a 20-year-old man who occurred at the Saint-Lambert train station, in Montérégie, last January. Two young people aged 18 and 19 could notably be charged with second degree murder.

According to the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL), it was during a transaction related to narcotics and vaping accessories that went wrong that Gabriel Lauzier, who was 20 years old, was killed shot in the parking lot outside the station.

About six months after the events, the SPAL announced Thursday that five suspects were arrested as part of this investigation.

Two young men, aged 18 and 19, were arrested and will appear in court Thursday to face charges that could include second-degree murder, robbery, pointing a firearm and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Three other suspects were also arrested for accessory after the fact. They are a young man and a young woman, both aged 17, and a man aged 20.

The SPAL indicated that it will now focus its efforts on legal proceedings, working in collaboration with the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions, “so that justice is done in this case”.
