The Minister of Infrastructure and Land and Air Transport, Mr. Malick Ndiaye chaired today in Thiès the reception ceremony of 500 gas taxis, as part of an initial agreement signed in February 2021 for the renewal of 2,000 taxis new urban vehicles installed in Senegal.

“I am honored to stand before you today for the reception of 500 Gas taxis including 463 financed by IKCO (parent company of SEN IRAN) and 37 by the DER/FJ for the benefit of transport operators,” declared the guardianship.

“It reflects the dynamism and progress noted in the modernization of the public transport fleet…The dilapidation of the motor vehicle fleet, the road insecurity it records, the insufficiency of the transport supply and the deficit “The current context of road insecurity calls for the acceleration of the vehicle fleet renewal program,” he added.

According to the Minister of Infrastructure and Land and Air Transport, “by investing in this fleet of new taxis, we are strengthening our commitment to the quality of transport services for our citizens. These modern vehicles are equipped with the latest technologies to ensure safety and user comfort while respecting environmental standards.

The ceremony recorded the presence of the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Senegal, among other authorities…
