“To date, the author has still not been identified”, summarizes the public prosecutor of Nanterre, Pascal Prache, in the video from the Ministry of Justice. The institution, supported by the Nanterre cold case center (Haut-de-Seine), wants to relaunch the investigation into the Ginette Naime case.

This 46-year-old woman was found stabbed on April 13, 2000 on Chemin du Gros Cerveau in Oullioule (Var). The walkers who discovered the body saw a man fleeing by stealing the victim’s car. A week later, the Seat Cordoba Aventura was discovered abandoned. And despite a rather precise description of the fugitive, the investigators will never unmask him. The judicial investigation is then closed in 2008. If a second one is opened in 2016, it will be closed in 2023, for lack of information.

“ Collect new testimonies »

The Nanterre cold case unit, which focuses on unsolved crimes, took over the case in June 2022. Without result, for the moment.

This June 12, the Ministry of Justice then released a four-minute video in which the Nanterre prosecutor calls for new testimonies “to advance the investigations », he emphasizes. An initiative that could pay off. Since its recent creation, the Nanterre cold case unit has already resolved several cases thanks to these calls for witnesses, notably serial rapes from the 1990s.
