A major fire broke out in a building in Val-d’Or

A major fire broke out this morning around 8:30 a.m. at 1320 boulevard Forest in Val-d’Or

It is a 60-unit building near the hospital.

Nearly thirty firefighters from the fire department were on site and the fire was completely brought under control.

The flames started on the second floor in a kitchen according to the Val-d’Or fire department.

No one was seriously injured and no deaths were reported.

Damage is estimated at 25 thousand dollars.

However, 25 citizens were quickly evacuated from the building in collaboration with the Sûreté du Québec.
