A late wake-up call, but better late than never. OGC Nice failed to take its three points this Thursday, November 7, against the Dutch club Twente on behalf of the 4th day of the Europa League, obtaining the equalizer in the 88th minute of the match (2- 2).
The French club was trailing 2-0 at the hour mark at the Allianz Riviera. The left side Dante-Bard exploded in front of the opposing strikes. Captain Youri Reeger pulled back for Daan Rots, whose uncontrolled shot surprised Marcin Bulka, who was not very responsive (0-1, 8th).
In the second half, Franck Haise tried to react by replacing Camara and Moukoko with Jonathan Clauss and Mohamed-Ali Cho. But in the 60th minute, the Dutch attack from Twente, Sam Lammers, made a small bridge over Youssouf Ndayishimiye before striking victoriously at the near post (0-2, 60th).
A red card everywhere
The Nice coach then brought in Evan Guessand, Badredine Bouanani and Jérémie Boga (65th). On his first ball, the latter scored with a magnificent curling shot from the right (1-2, 66th).
Four minutes stronger, the Aiglons took a hard blow with the exclusion of Diop in the 70th minute. However, OGC Nice has not given up. In the 88th minute, Mohamed-Ali Cho victoriously took Jonathan Clauss’ cross, allowing the Aiglons to equalize (2-2). For their part, Twente were reduced to ten men in the 90th minute with the exclusion of Bart van Rooij.
Following this result, the Nice club is now positioned in 32nd place in the standings with only 2 points in 4 matches.
