On the night of Thursday, November 7, around 2 a.m., a tragedy occurred in the Medina, rue 3X8, in the Abattoir district. A balcony located on the fourth floor of a dilapidated building collapsed, killing a man. The victim, Mamadou Bobo Diallo, a 47-year-old coffee seller, lost his life in this tragic accident.
Present on the scene, the authorities, including the sub-prefect of Dakar Plateau, urged the agency in charge of the building to reimburse the deposit to the families, with a view to an upcoming eviction and the imminent destruction of the building. . Mayor Bamba Fall noted the presence of many ruined buildings in the city, posing similar risks.

According to local residents interviewed by SeneNews, the building, built in 1995, was regularly subject to repairs by the owner. However, this work did not prevent the tragedy of that night.
