It was by email that they alerted management. Employees of the aquatic center Duneo located at Argences since 2014, and which today has 33 employees, expressed through an electronic message dated October 9, 2024, their concerns about air quality around the pools. Some even exercised a right of withdrawal for a few hours. They denounce the discomfort felt. Itchy eyes, runny nose, sore throat…
They seem worried about their health. Two employees are currently on a work stoppage. This discomfort seems more significant during the cold seasons than in summer.
Past and current analyzes
The management of the center “affirms with certainty that our establishment fully respects all the safety and well-being standards in force”. Following receipt of the reports, new tests were however carried out on October 17. Others had already been carried out last April, revealing no anomaly.
The results are clear and unequivocal: no anomaly or risk was detected.
An adjusted humidity level
According to management, the center's activity is maintained within a normal framework in Argences, at usual hours. But then what can be done so that employee comfort improves? “In partnership with our service provider Dalkia and in order to improve the working conditions of our employees who spend a significant amount of time in a hot and humid environmentwe have adjusted the humidity level,” management said. Daily monitoring is carried out.
“In the coming weeks, in conjunction with the lifeguard teams, we will continue to analyze samples to monitor the evolution of the situation. » Technical adjustments have already been made to optimize air circulation. “We remain vigilant in the face of any new requests,” promises management.
