A supermarket attacked with heavy weapons and set on fire in Marseille

It was 2:30 a.m. this Thursday morning when residents of rue Le Chatelier were awakened from their sleep by detonations. And for good reason: several individuals had just shot up L'alimentation des 4 chemins, a convenience store remaining open part of the night, which is on the corner of rue Le Chatelier and avenue Ibrahim-Ali. Hooded and heavily armed, the individuals fired several times at the front of the business. No gunshot wounds, but several customers reportedly ran away.

Despite the efforts of the firefighters, this small store of around thirty square meters was destroyed by a fire probably caused by an incendiary device thrown by the suspected shooters before fleeing by car.

On site, emergency services took charge of a victim who was inconvenienced by the smoke. Aged 41, this woman was finally transported to the emergency room of the North hospital, although her vital prognosis was not in jeopardy. Eight other people had to be evacuated from the building.

Half a dozen sockets

Technical and scientific police officers reportedly found half a dozen shell casings in front of the building.

During the night from Sunday to Monday, a food store had already come under fire from weapons of war, but this time in the 14th arrondissement of Marseille. Armed with Kalashnikovs, individuals emerged from a car and riddled the front of a grocery store on Chemin Saint-Joseph in Sainte-Marthe with bullets. The technical and scientific police officers noted no less than thirteen impacts in the metal curtain of the business and recovered as many ammunition cases from the crime scene.
