Chinese exports to Russia rose 24.4% in October from a year earlier, the fastest pace since November last year, Chinese customs data showed on Thursday, as Beijing says its close ties with Moscow.
This increase is higher than that of 15.7% recorded in September.
However, Chinese imports from Russia fell 4.3% last month from a year earlier, down from a 9.2% drop in September as payment problems disrupted commercial transactions.
During a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko last month, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reaffirmed the strength of relations between China and Russia, which have not been affected by “changes in the international situation”.
In the first 10 months of 2024, the value of China-Russia bilateral trade reached 1.4 trillion yuan, an increase of 4 percent year-on-year, according to customs data.
In dollar terms, bilateral trade between China and Russia reached $202.2 billion in the first 10 months, up 2.8 percent from the same period a year earlier, the data showed.
