With a score of almost 35% for the Bardella list in Gironde, according to partial results at 10 p.m. this Sunday, June 9, there is no longer any doubt: eleven years after joining the National Rally, Julie Rechagneux, 28 years old , will open the doors of the European Parliament. In 18e position on the list led by Jordan Bardella, his election is not a surprise. “It is, I think, recognition of my work,” she explains. Originally from Puy-de-Dôme, she joined the RN in 2013 in Clermont-Ferrand, where she led her father’s municipal campaign.

Curriculum

She moved to Gironde the following year to study law. And continue to campaign. There she crossed paths with Edwige Diaz, current deputy for Gironde and vice-president of the RN. And begins the “course” of young activists. Julie Rechagneux lined up in all the elections: she replaced Anne-Christine Royal (the cousin of Ségolène Royal) in the departmental elections in 2015, candidate in the regional elections in 2015. She was not elected, but became a collaborator of the RN group.

In 2017, she ran for the Bordeaux center constituency in the 2017 legislative elections and received 3% of the votes. “I’m not coming out of nowhere, I’ve had nights of defeat,” she says. We find it in the Lormont municipal elections in 2020 where 3 RN elected officials sit on the opposition benches. In the 2021 regional elections, Edwige Diaz, the head of the list, made him her campaign director. Number 3 on the Gironde list, Julie Rechagneux is elected.

Municipal

As a European MP, she intends to follow in the footsteps of the MP for Haute Gironde: “I will be on the ground every weekend meeting businesses and the population,” she says. In Brussels, she intends to invest in issues of industry, agriculture, fishing and transport. In the coming days, Julie Rechagneux will surrender her regional mandate, but will keep her municipal mandate in Lormont. She makes no secret of her desire to play an active part in the municipal elections in the Bordeaux metropolis in 2026.
