It is an event awaited and appreciated by children, teachers and families of the city of Brunoy (Essonne). The 4th edition of film festival “The 400 blows” returns from this Saturday, November 9 to the House of Artsone of the essential cultural places of Brunoy. For three weeks, the public is invited, free of charge, to the screening of several animated films. Naturally, young people are invited “to awaken them to cinema and its world”indicates the organization.

Since its creation in 2021, this festival has acquired its letters of nobility. More than 2,000 spectators participated in the 2023 editionfour times more than at the start. “This festival meets a great success. The programming is suitable for everyone. So, the films shown are pour ages 4 to seniors.
“Conveying a social and societal messagethe films are very popular with teachers. We are even obliged to extend the duration of screenings for schools every year because the demand is so great.underlines Dominique Bax, president of the ciné-scènes association who co-organizes the event with the Maison des arts. Last year, 65 classes from schools in Brunoy were able to benefit from the festival. And this year again, school sessions are planned during the week and others at the weekend.
The inauguration of the festival takes place this Saturday, November 9, at 3:00 p.m., in the presence of director Florence Miailhe who will present his film “The crossing“. Then, the following days, a tribute will be paid to the filmmaker René Laloux, with two films: “The Wild Planet” (Jury Prize at Cannes in 1973) and “Les maîtres du temps”. The musician Bastien Ferrez will accompany live “Charlot Festival”, a film concert. Finally, two introductory cinema workshops and an exhibition on animated cinema will complete the program.

- Sunday, November 10 at 2:30 p.m., tribute to filmmaker René Laloux with “Les maitres du temps”, then at 4 p.m. with “The Wild Planet”.
- Saturday November 16, 2:30 p.m., “The Winter of Edmond and Lucy” by François Narboux.
- Saturday, November 16, 2:30 p.m., “Who Framed Roger Rabbit,” by Robert Zemekis.
- Sunday November 17 at 3 p.m., “Charlot festival” film concert by Charlie Chaplin, accompanied live by Bastien Ferrez.
- Saturday November 23 at 2:30 p.m., “Shaun the Sheep's Incredible Christmas” by Steve Cox and Liz Whitaker.
- Saturday November 23 at 4 p.m., screening of “Les inséparables”, by Jérémie Degruson.
- Sunday November 24 at 3 p.m., Closing of the Festival with “Kirikou and the Witch” by Michel Ocelot. Preceded by a tale played, sung and danced by Bado Fatoumata.
