Pimping: one-day trial for Jimmy Lévesque

Following the preliminary investigation held on May 24 in the form of a preliminary interrogation, Jimmy Lévesque, 36 years old from Rimouski, accused of pimping, was summoned to his one-day trial which will take place on October 24 .

The accused’s lawyer, Me Caroline Bérubé, renounced the holding of the investigation into the release of her client, mentioning that the defense admitted not being able to discharge its burden of proof in order to convince a judge to release Lévesque during the rest of the legal process.

Jimmy Lévesque will therefore remain behind bars for the duration of the proceedings. Remember that preventive detention, that is to say that which is carried out before the imposition of a sentence, counts at 1.5 days per day served.

Arrested in Rivière-du-Loup

Police officers from the Rimouski Major Crimes Investigation Division, in collaboration with Rivière-du-Loup patrol officers, arrested Jimmy Lévesque in the area of ​​Lafontaine Street in Rivière-du-Loup on February 7.

He was the subject of an arrest warrant following an investigation into pimping.
