In Ile-de-France, the 2024 winner of the “Social Utility” category, SNL-Prologues, stands out for its solidarity real estate model dedicated to people in great precariousness. This cooperative, recognized by the State as a solidarity enterprise of social utility (ESUS), acquires and renovates housing to offer it at very low rents to people who are homeless or living in unsanitary conditions. Operating according to the principle of “Housing First”, SNL-Prologues guarantees decent and well-located accommodation, far from temporary solutions such as hotels or emergency centers often offered to people in difficulty.
The jury praised the impact of this model which, with more than 1,200 housing units in Ile-de-France, provides a structural response to the housing crisis. By inspiring other regions to adopt this concept, SNL-Prologues encourages the development of sustainable and inclusive housing solutions, demonstrating the capacity of the ESS to act effectively in the face of current social challenges.
