The weather will be varied this weekend. However, the disruptions will affect a large part of the territory. Indeed, the sky will be cloudy over almost all of France except Île-de-France and Picardy. These disturbances will be accompanied by powerful storms. Météo-France has placed 49 departments on yellow vigilance and 3 on orange vigilance for this meteorological phenomenon.

For this Saturday, June 8, Météo-France is therefore warning of significant weather disturbances. Three departments in the southwest have been placed on orange alert for thunderstorms and rain-flooding. These are Gers, Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Hautes-Pyrénées.

It must be said that most of France is on alert. 49 departments are also placed on yellow alert for risks of storms, as well as rain and flooding. These are Charente-Maritime, Gironde, Landes, Lot-et-Garonne, Lot, Dordogne, Charente, Ariège, Haute-Garonne, Tarn-et-Garonne, Corrèze , Haute-Vienne, Indre, Creuse, Puy-de-Dôme, Cantal, Aveyron, Cher, Lozère, Allier, Nièvre, Haute-Loire, Loire, Gard , Ardèche, Saône-et-Loire, Côte-d’or, Haute-Marne, Vosges, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Haute-Saône, Territoire de Belfort, Jura, Rhône, Ain, Haute-Savoie, Savoie, Isère, Drôme, Hautes-Alpes, Vaucluse, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Bouches-du-Rhône, Var, Alpes-Maritimes, Haute-Corse and finally Corse-du-Sud.

Violent storms will affect certain departments, according to Météo-France

This deteriorating weather will also have the consequences of significant flooding. Moreover, Météo-France has placed five departments on yellow alert for this phenomenon. These are Haut-Rhin, Bas-Rhin, Somme, Oise and Aisne. It must also be said that in the midst of these degradations, the department of Corsica-du-Sud is an exception. It has been placed on yellow alert for heatwaves, while the Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Hautes-Pyrénées are placed on yellow alert for rain and flooding.

For this Saturday, cumulative rainfall could reach or exceed, at peak, 100 mm. In the morning, under chaotic skies, showers sometimes mixed with thunder will circulate from the north of Aquitaine and Limousin to Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and, more locally, from around the Gulf of Lion to the Provencal coast. In the afternoon, stormy showers will recede in the interior of PACA, then towards the Southern Alps and sunny or cloudy weather will return to the Mediterranean regions.

On the other hand, storm activity will increase over the Pyrenees with some overflows into the plains south of the Garonne, as well as Limousin and Auvergne north of Rhône-Alpes, Franche-Comté and south of Alsace. Hail and heavy rain will be possible locally under thunderstorms.
