the essential
The Massylvains valiantly won their ticket for the semi-finals of Regional 3. Sunday, in Calmont (31), they will have to overcome the solid Hérault obstacle of Cruzy Saint-Chinian to play a possible final.

It is obvious that the more the competition advances, the bigger the opponent. But all this is far from destabilizing the Massylvan group, accustomed to these complicated and even thorny matches, but so exciting to play. Anthony Bourrec (Captain Masseube We don’t care about being behind, we always play the same, we keep our mindset to win in the 80th. We are here, the Massylvan youth are there, to go far. In itself, no matter what happens in the semi-final, we got there step by step, we are afraid of no one, we just have to continue with our values. We might come across stronger with Cruzy Saint-Chinian, but that would surprise me, because we have the desire and with that and the heart, we will go far. I make no secret of it, our objective is to win the shield. »

Sébastien Faulong trains a group of young people who give him a few cold sweats on the bench, with his colleague Benoît Bornancin: “No matter what comes, in this case Cruzy Saint-Chinian, the noose is now tightening. There are four teams left and we are one of them. For us, it was unexpected at the start of the season, it’s our reward, the guys are physically good and they understood everything, our group is young and building. »

Masseube is no longer hiding, David Salles (co-president) says it bluntly: “The objective is the final. This elimination championship is not the same as the others, we are going to stay on the same bases, with what our guys know how to do, trying to get around them. We may not be favorites, but that suits us well. »

The young opener Marius Faulong, also like his friends, is experiencing extraordinary moments: “We never give up, we have worked in this direction since the start of the season. There, in these qualifiers, we are good and we are capable of turning the tide of the match. We are not going to give up because, since our defeat in the Occitanie semi-final, where we came up against the stronger side (Canet d’Aude), we have grown and learned.”

Sunday at the Calmont stadium (Hers Lauragais, 31), where so many Gersois have reached a milestone, recently Bassoues LM qualified there against Bédarrieux, Masseube XV again hopes to write a beautiful page in its young history with a beautiful final in point of focus.

Strong Hérault residents

Like Masseube, the Héraultais of Cruzy Saint-Chinian finished first in their group in the current championship. Only two defeats punctuated their journey. Champion of Hérault, they were eliminated in 8th Occitanie by Nissan Colombiers. In the French championship, their main feat of arms is the elimination of the solid territorial champion Canet d’Aude and, last Sunday, of Nissan Colombiers, the finalist. Two great revenges which certainly make him a favorite on the Calmont meadow with a hell of a match to go. The supporters will be there, ready to push and encourage their foals.
