Throughout the month of November, residents of Val-au-Perche (Orne) are invited to public information meetings in all the historic municipalities delegated to discuss the new addressing.
The aim is to present the naming projects and of collect opinions of the inhabitants.
Compliance for addressing
The so-called “3DS” law (Differentiation, Decentralization, Deconcentration and Simplification) is a French law adopted in 2022. Its objective aims to modernize local public action and to give more freedom to local authorities.
Within the framework of delegations of competence, it recognizes the authority of municipalities in matters addressing.
The City of Val-au-Perchein partnership with the Orne Departmental Council, will comply with the naming of roads open to traffic, including private ones, and numbering.
Mandatory for municipalities
Many municipalities are, in fact, facing absence of addresseswhich penalizes the services, and first and foremost the citizens.
In Val-au-Perche, as elsewhere, it is the municipal council which is responsible for the names of roads and localities and their numbering.
This planning is a obligation for all municipalities.
“Improve access to public services”
This data, once updated, will enrich the national address database (BAN), used by a growing number of players, particularly in the public service.
Up-to-date addresses are the guarantee for a municipality to see its businesses and economic activities well referenced, its inhabitants more quickly rescued and delivered. For everyone, it is also the guarantee of rapid access to online public services.
Note that correct addressing is also a prerequisite for connection to optical fiber.
