The OM reserve team led by Jean-Pierre Papin lost on Saturday in Corsica in a match against Corte which degenerated with the expulsion at the end of the match of Olympian top scorer Robinio Vaz.
Olympique de Marseille will long remember their trip to Corte this Saturday in National 3. The team led by Jean-Pierre Papin lost but beyond the result, it is the post-match scuffles which will mark the minds in the Olympian camp. In today's edition, La Provence looks back on OM's perilous trip to Corsica and reveals that while the players and managers went to the locker rooms, tempers grew heated.
A general brawl after the defeat of the OM reserve
Top scorer in the OM reserve this season, Robinio Vaz (our photo) was targeted by the Corsican players after having heated up the public by violently sending a ball towards the supporters. An unfortunate gesture on the part of the young French striker who “set fire to the powder” to the point of causing a general fight between the players. Several members of the OM staff were involved and one of them received a punch as they approached the tunnel while trying to separate the players. Robinio Vaz said to himself “shocked” by the incidents, in the same way as many actors present during the incident.
OM's top scorer sent off
Everyone's minds then calmed down but Robinio Vaz did not escape the sentence of the referee who handed him a red card for all his work, namely the ball sent towards the public then the fight. A Corte player also received a red card. The two players do not yet know the duration of their suspension, but they risk being costly for such an unsporting event relating to behavior and violence. A hard blow for OM who, in addition to conceding a crippling defeat in the race to climb, undoubtedly lost their best attacker for the matches to come.
