Two vehicles burned in the heart of downtown Montreal

Two cars located 300 meters from each other were hit by fires in downtown Montreal on Sunday evening. These fires caused no injuries.


Published yesterday at 10:58 p.m.

At 6:15 p.m., a call was made to the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) regarding a vehicle on fire at the corner of René-Lévesque Boulevard and Saint-Dominique Street, in the Ville borough -Married.

Thirty minutes later, the SPVM received a second call, this time concerning a burned SUV, located at the corner of St-Catherine and De Bullion streets.

In both cases, the fires were already under control when police arrived on scene. The damage caused to the two automobiles is minor.

The circumstances surrounding these fires are still unknown. No incendiary objects were found at the crime scene. An investigation is being carried out by the SPVM’s arson unit. Surveillance cameras near the fires will be consulted in particular.
