The rate ofinflation remains unchanged at 7.2% in May 2024, according to the Consumer Price Index, published Thursday by the INS.

Over one year, the prices of manufactured products grew by 7% due to the increase in prices of clothing products of 9.5% (compared to 9.7% in April 2024) and products routine household maintenance of 8.8%. For services, the increase in prices is 5.5% over one year, mainly explained by the increase in prices for services of the restaurant, cafes and hotels group of 10.2% (compared to 10.4% in the month of April 2024).

The underlying inflation rate (excluding food and energy products) fell slightly to 6.8% compared to 6.9% last month. The prices of free (unsupervised) products have increased by 8% over one year.
