The electric smart #1 drops in price, but retains this unfortunate defect

Smart is expanding the catalog of its #1 with the arrival of two entry-level finishes, Pure and Pure+. Enough to lower the price of access to this electric car, cousin of the Volvo EX30. Here are their prices, equipment and autonomy.

Like the Renault 5 E-Tech and like many others, Smart has chosen to level up its range with the launch of its #1 electric SUV, by first offering the most equipped versions.

After approximately two years on the market, the range is being expanded with two new finishes called “Pure” and “Pure+”, as announced in a press release from the brand, allowing the entry price to be lowered.

A cheaper model, but still well equipped

The differences will mainly be around the equipment compared to the already existing versions, these new finishes skipping a few options, but without being completely stripped down.

We thus find as standard 18-inch rims, LED headlights, automatic air conditioning, a 12.8-inch screen compatible with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay with connected navigation, adaptive cruise control and a whole suite of driving aids.

Better placed, but still no bonus

The basic “Pure” version has an LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) battery with a capacity of 49 kWh (47 kWh net), for an autonomy approved under the WLTP cycle of 310 km.

Good news, fast charging is still there, with a maximum power of 130 kWenough to go from 10 to 80% in 30 minutes. The model starts from 33,815 euros. A price which could open the doors to the ecological bonus of 4,000 euros… but its manufacture in China prevents it from accessing it.

The “Pure+” finish has a 66 kWh (62 kWh net) NMC (nickel-manganese-cobalt) battery, for a range of 420km WLTP. The charging power increases slightly and goes to 150kW, enough to fill up from 10 to 80% in 30 minutes as well. Its price starts at 38,815 euros.
