Unfortunately on the Breton side, the defense had to cope without Naïr, withdrawn and replaced by Riou, certainly more in anticipation and recovery than his solid sidekick but less imposing in the duel.
And yet, it was Guingamp who proved impassable, certainly helped by Basilio, notably on this high-class save against Joseph (20'), but also by his defensive solidarity. The four defenders did not hesitate to come and relieve their comrade when one of them found himself in difficulty. Without forgetting, of course, a lack of Grenoble success in the area, as evidenced by this strike from Ba at the start of the second half. But if having a defense allows you not to lose, it's scoring that makes you win. And for that, the Ripoll players were able to count on a renewed attack.
Picard shines, Labeau is reborn
From the kick-off, Picard, on fire, started his race. After a sublime rush into the area, the winger collapsed, broke. But Labeau was there to recover the leather and deceive Diop (1-0, 1'), thus scoring his first goal in Ligue 2 in Costa Rican colors. On the legs, he then served Sagna who, unfortunately, missed his duel against the vigilant Diop (18'). Perpetually attacking the Grenoble surface, first to do the pressing, for 45 minutes, his power and his positioning hurt Oswald Tanchot's troops.
The center forward came out in place of Siwe (56'), who scored on his first ball (2-0, 57'), to the roar of a crazy crowd. But here again, the locals could thank Roudourou's favorite, because it was Picard, on receiving Hemia's missed shot, who delivered the offering to the Guingamp striker.
The Bretons were in trouble and didn't stop there. Found by Siwe, Vallier rushed alone against Diop but found the post. No matter, Sagna was there to send a missile and definitively seal the game (3-0, 67'), enough to celebrate his 50th match under the Breton tunic with dignity.
Guingamp, solid behind and lethal in front, therefore found the top 5, its true place. That of an outsider capable of the worst, as well as the best…
