A young man seriously injured by gunfire during a shooting in front of a nightclub near Valence, on the night of Thursday October 31 to Friday 1is November, died, announced Saturday, November 2, the Privas prosecutor's office (Ardèche), to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Aged 22, the young man from Romans-sur-Isère was shot in the head and transported in absolute emergency to the Valence hospital center with a life-threatening prognosis.
Two other people, more lightly injured, remain hospitalized, said the deputy prosecutor, Charlotte Cerna, adding that the investigation “continues” and did not give rise to any arrests at this stage.

“Nicolas is no more”
The shooting, believed to be linked to drug trafficking, broke out around 2:30 a.m. on Friday in the parking lot of a nightclub in Saint-Péray (Ardèche), west of Valence, according to a police source.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the perpetrator of the shots was dressed in black and had his face hidden under a hood. He fired a handgun before fleeing.
The Rugby Club Romans-Péage (RCRP), of which the young man was a member, paid tribute to him on its Facebook page, saying “annihilated again” by this death “in terrible circumstances”. It was also within the RCRP that young Thomas played, killed during a ball in Crépol (Drôme) in November 2023.
“Nicolas is no more”reacted for her part the mayor of Romans-sur-Isère Marie-Hélène Thoraval on X. “An entire city devastated by this new tragedy, the consequence of a barbaric, gratuitous and totally senseless act”she lamented.
