Here’s when to drink water to boost metabolism, according to a urologist

Renowned urologist, Dr. Sophie Hurel, interviewed by the Daily Galaxyemphasizes the importance of spreading your water consumption throughout the day. By doing this, you ensure continuous hydration, essential for maintaining bodily functions and preventing urinary infections.

It is important to understand that the human body follows circadian rhythms, which are biological cycles of approximately 24 hours regulating different bodily functions. Therefore, adapting your water consumption can support these mechanisms and maximize their benefits. Drinking water as soon as you wake up, for example, helps restart the metabolism and eliminate toxins accumulated by the body during the night.

The recommended program for hydrating

To guarantee optimal hydration for your body, here is the water distribution suggested by the urologist:

. When you wake up: 1 to 2 glasses of water

. Mid-morning: 1 glass

. Lunch: 1 to 2 glasses

. Mid-afternoon: 1 glass

. Evening: 1 to 2 glasses, making sure they are not too close to bedtime to avoid waking up during the night to go to the toilet.

A daily intake of 1.5 liters of water

Good hydration results from a good balance between timing and quantity. Dr. Hurel recommends a daily intake of 1.5 liters of water, or approximately 8 glasses of water throughout the day. However, this is a general guideline and may vary depending on climate, physical activity, weight and individual specific water needs. According to experts, a person weighing 90 kg or more can consume up to 3 liters of water per day maximum.

Dr. Hurel wants to emphasize that you should not wait until you are thirsty to drink water, because this often indicates that “you are already slightly dehydrated”specifies the specialist.

Hydration will also allow the liver to play a role in elimination. To do this, it needs to be purified. By drinking water, you support their work. The water will flush the liver. As a result, it will function better, be less tired and be able to better eliminate metabolic waste and toxins. This is the first step if you want to lose weight. It is no coincidence that dehydration promotes constipation and bloating. Not drinking enough water makes digestion difficult.
