Numerous fires were reported this Saturday, November 2, at the Champ de Bataille plain, Saint-Louis and Yahoué, in the commune of Mont-Dore. The fire in the Battlefield plain led to the triggering of the ORSEC “forest fires” plan.
The fire on the Battlefield plain broke out on Friday, November 1, around 8 p.m. Almost under control last night, it started again today because of the wind. The municipality's firefighters, RIMAP firefighters, local and national civil security firefighters are currently engaged in the field with a water bomber helicopter. Around four hectares of burnt areas were recorded, according to emergency services. All Pinus plantations are threatened.
In Saint-Louis, five hectares went up in smoke, between the cemetery and the mountain, after the Thy bridge. The fire is currently evolving freely, but still under the supervision of landowners. No homes are threatened.
