North Korea has confirmed that it will continue to work towards nuclear weapons. After causing an outcry following the firing of a brand new missile, Pyongyang reportedly spoke with Moscow to discuss the quest for the supreme weapon. An announcement that the Western bloc takes a very dim view of.
During a visit to Russia, the head of North Korean diplomacy confirmed that Pyongyang would strengthen its nuclear arsenal. Although we do not yet know how, some voices believe that North Korea could, in exchange for its military support for the Russian army in Ukraine, recover Russian technologies which will allow it to access atomic weapons.
North Korea wants nuclear weapons
A clear acceleration in this area, which North Korea justifies by accusing Washington and Seoul of working on the development of a completely new alliance, with “a nuclear component”. Accusations provided without concrete evidence, however. Pyongyang believes, as such, that the situation could become explosive at any time, thus causing concern within the Korean peninsula.
To achieve its objective and remain viable on the international scene, North Korea can count on the firm support of Moscow, which has moved considerably closer to Pyongyang since the start of the war in Ukraine. In addition to the troops sent to Russia, North Korea would also supply weapons and shells to the Russian army to help it in its fights.
Ukraine, facing Pyongyang?
A criticized rapprochement, singled out by Volodymyr Zelensky. Indeed, the Ukrainian president described the reactions of the Western bloc to the sending of several thousand North Korean men to Russia as “zero”. According to him, European nations and the United States have failed to live up to the announcement, even though Moscow and Pyongyang continue to reiterate their messages of support.
