“I had doubts after the second time because I knew that I was ahead by two seconds during the first intermediate and there, I was a second behind. I told myself that he was going very fast. I had I felt like I didn’t have the energy anymore but I gave it my all in the final, in the last bump and it’s an advantage for me, this last kilometer uphill.”
Asked about a possible final victory as a new goal, he wanted to put a damper on expectations: “Everything will depend on the legs during the last three stages, because I don’t know if I will be fit enough after these days.
