Do as I say, not as I do: Quebec organizes 10 international recruitment missions

The number of asylum seekers received in Canada has exploded over the past four months. In Canada, we are talking about more than 62,000 people who requested asylum, including more than 22,000 in Quebec alone… for four months, it should be remembered.

Obviously, this puts significant pressure on our social services: health, education, housing and last resort assistance. The elastic is stretched to the maximum and we have far exceeded our capacity to receive these people with dignity.

The Prime Minister is right to recall these figures and to ask the federal government to take its responsibilities and send a check as quickly as possible.

Temporary workers

There are also the numbers of temporary foreign workers who have exploded. There are currently 230,000 temporary foreign workers in the territory. It is enormous! Workers can come from both the Quebec program and the federal program.

While Quebec makes us believe that they are considering limiting access, the government alone is organizing 10 recruitment missions for temporary workers between now and February 2025.

Brazil, Mexico, sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, Belgium, Morocco, Colombia, France, Lebanon and Tunisia will receive “Quebec Days”, which are roughly recruitment fairs organized by the government to enable businesses to meet their labor needs.

The federal government does not have a monopoly on exaggeration

It is therefore not only the evil federal government which is keeping the doors wide open to attract and recruit foreign workers; Quebec is making significant efforts in this direction as well, contributing to the increase in these figures.

It is obvious that the companies that participate in these missions do so out of necessity. The government knows it, helps them, and it does well. But maybe he should start taking responsibility and saying what he does or doing what he says.
