Hanoi, November 1 (VNA) – Deputies of the National Assembly (NA) discussed on the morning of November 1 in the room questions of divergent opinions on the draft law on fire prevention, fighting and rescue after listening to a report on the explanation, acquisition and revision of the bill, as part of their ongoing 8th session.

The bill was examined and commented on by the 15th National Assembly during its 7th session. After the session, based on feedback from lawmakers, the NA Standing Committee requested the NA Defense and Security Committee to collaborate with the Ministry of Public Security (drafting body) and the relevant agencies to study, incorporate and revise the draft law and prepare a draft report on the explanation, acquisition and revision.

The bill adds five new groups of provisions that are not currently included in the existing law, including regulations on rescue activities falling within the scope of the law; provisions relating to the enforcement of laws relating to fire fighting, fire prevention and rescue; regulations relating to fire prevention in residential and business buildings; inspections relating to fire prevention and fighting; those relating to the management of infrastructures which do not meet fire safety requirements and which were put into service before the entry into force of the current law.

In the afternoon, lawmakers will hear a proposal and verification report on the investment policy of the national cultural development target program for the period 2025-2035, and debate this topic in the chamber. -VNA
