Thick black smoke hung over Antibes this Thursday, October 31. A fire broke out this morning on the roof of a six-story building located on avenue des Frères Roustan, perpendicular to boulevard du Maréchal Foch, overlooking the sea.
Firefighters intervened around 9:45 a.m. No casualties have been reported. The building in question is an apartment building.
Around 40 m² of glass wool and tar burned on the roof of the building, specifies the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS).) of the Alpes-Maritimes.
The large fire ladder was used to put out the flames. Six machines were mobilized.
The circumstances of this fire are currently unknown.
Every year, firefighters intervene on 60,000 to 70,000 home fires, indicates the Ministry of Health. These fires are responsible for more than 200 deaths and more than 9,000 injuries.
