More than 40 UQAM graduates are among the winners of the 39e edition of the Gémeaux Awards Gala, organized by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television – Quebec section. The event, held on September 15, celebrated the work of artists and artisans in the French-speaking television and digital industries.

Among the prizes won by Uqamians, we can mention, in particular:

– Jean-Pierre Bastien (BA communication/journalism, 2007) and Philippe Lamarre (BA graphic design, 2000), in the category Best original production intended for digital media: magazine, public affairs or report for How to become a conspiracy theorist? (Urbania)

– Jean-François Chagon (BA arts, 2008) and Mathieu Godbois (BA communication, 1999), in the category Best production: cultural magazine, interview or talk show for I come to you (Grapefruit Media)

– Virginie Fortin (C. communication, 2009), Zita Lawson (BA communication/public relations, 2000), Marie-Ève ​​Morency (BA dramatic art/acting, 2011), Alec Pronovost (BA communication/cinema, 2016) and Julie Provençal (BA communication, 2001), in different categories of humor for Club Soly – Season 3 (Encore Television)

– Raphaëlle Huysmans (BA communication/cultural and media production strategies, 2009), in the category Best program or series: interview or talk show for For once (Urbania) and in the category Best Cultural Magazine for It’s just – Season 17 (Urbania)

– Marie-Josée Lévesque (BA communication, 1992) in the category Best production: variety or performing arts, Samuel Maurin Bonte (BA communication/journalism, 2017) and Guy Villeneuve (C. initiation to film scriptwriting, 1986), in the category Best special program or series: variety or performing arts for Revolution – Season 5 (Fair Play Group)
