Saturday June 1st took place the second edition of the day dedicated to the legend of Simèque, water witch. The weather was a little unpredictable but the day was able to be completed to the end. The craft market stalls were magnificent. Some exhibitors (there were around thirty of them) even played the disguise game. The shows continued. The birds of prey and the Gryffindor Falconry team, led by Isabelle and Aurore Gotci, amazed the public who were able to approach the friendly birds.

“The storyteller Catherine Caillaud took us into an incredible legend of the Simèque, between raising awareness about water and guaranteed humor… Thank you to the speakers and the team of volunteers who lent themselves to the theater game”says Karine Maureau, one of the instigators of the party.

An aligot for 150 people

Annie Prieur had sewn a few costumes and the Simèque was as scary as can be. The Dragon workshop and children’s activities were a great success. The aligot (150 reservations), grilled meats and fries offered by the hunters delighted the crowd.

At the end of the evening the Simèque was judged and burned in the public square, as tradition dictates. Many came to share this festive moment, the Meyrannais and others.
