Laurent De Nodrest, director of the Poindimié primary school, saw his home burnt down during the night from Tuesday October 29 to Wednesday October 30. “I was woken up last night around 2:30 a.m. by a crackling noise.” The one “came from the terrace of my official accommodation. When I approached, I saw that there were high flames, around three meters. I left the house and noticed that the furniture was on fire. It was starting to attack the structure of the terrace so I took my garden hose to try to control the fire.confides the head of the establishment.
Later, Laurent De Nodrest will call the firefighters and the gendarmerie who will fix the fire.
The fire would be “intentional” according to the director. “There were two fires starting. My wife and I later saw, when daylight broke, that there was an attempt to start a fire on a table on the terrace.”
No more information on the alleged perpetrator(s). “I haven't seen anyone. We're going to let the gendarmerie investigation take its course. It's still traumatic for my wife and I who were sleeping peacefully in our house,” Laurent De Nodrest is indignant.
To date, a complaint has been filed with the Poindimié gendarmerie by the head of the Poindimié primary school.
