This Sunday, on his social networks, Karim Benzema communicated his choice. The Frenchman was crowned Ballon d’Or in 2022, the year of the last Champions League won by the Spanish club. “Golden Ball” wrote the Al-Itihad striker on Instagram with a photo of his former teammate Vinicius Junior.
Benzema and the Brazilian played nearly 200 matches together in the colors of the “White House” between the end of 2018 and the summer of 2023. Vinicius Junior, a key element of the Real Madrid attack since the departure of the Frenchman, scored 24 goals this season, leading his team to winning the Spanish Championship, the Spanish Super Cup and therefore the Champions League.
