Lyon was forced to share against Auxerre last night. Gift Orban has further lost credit with Lyon supporters.
Arrived from La Gantoise against 14 million last January, Gift Orban had left a good first impression on Les Gones supporters. If the players quickly discovered his offbeat, even crazy side, his spontaneity pleased the supporters.
But over time, the relationship seems to become complicated. The Nigerian’s playing time is becoming rarer from week to week. He has not played a minute in Ligue 1 for more than a month and was not even in the squad against Auxerre. But he still managed to get noticed.
A very relative involvement
After the match, he commented “Top” under the Instagram celebration of Sinaly Diamonde, the Auxerre player who scored a goal and an assist against OL. A comment that recalls the like of Thibaut Courtois on Jude Bellingham’s post on the occasion of his goal against Belgium last March.
