The national “Set-setal” day, scheduled for Saturday and consisting of a cleaning and sanitation operation throughout the national territory, is a demonstration of “our extremely important model of national cohesion”, declared, Thursday, the Prime Minister.
”We call everyone in their neighborhood, their city, their department, their region [à cette journée]. We are experimenting with this extremely important model for national cohesion (…) a model of demonstration of our individual and collective dedication to our country, to our homeland,” said Ousmane Sonko in a message broadcast on RTS, Senegalese public television.
The National “Set setal” Day, which will be in its first edition, is an initiative of the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, who calls on all Senegalese people to devote themselves to activities of cleaning streets and public places , the first Saturday of each month.
“We are therefore calling on all populations, in concert with the national army, the health services, the firefighters and all the services which act in this area”, launched the head of government.
In his radio and television statement, Ousmane Sonko indicated that he, the President of the Republic and the entire government will invest in this collective work of public health. he invites all his compatriots to do the same.
”We call on all Senegalese to come out en masse, first and foremost the President of the Republic, myself, head of government and all the ministers, directors and general managers, all of those who, today Today, have a public responsibility, to give the whole world the image of a Senegal united around its homeland, the national interest and not crypto-personal and political concerns,” the Prime Minister said.
