At the end of an edition of unequal level with a salutary increase in quality in the second week, the jury (chaired by Greta Gerwig) of the competition of the 77th Cannes Film Festival blew a breath of fresh air by awarding the Palme d’Or to the enthusiastic Anora of Sean Baker. The American filmmaker thus wins the prize for his second participation in the competition after Red Rocket in 2021. He had also already visited the Croisette in 2017 at the Quinzaine des Cinéastes with The Florida Project.
