They resumed the emblematic Relais de Castillonin Castets-et-Castillon (Gironde), very close to Langon.

And, incredibly, shortly after their arrival, one of their customers won 20,000 euros in the lottery by validating a grid in their grocery store.

A hell of a twist of fate

Véronique and Patrick Buton bring luck ! It was a bit by chance that the couple put his suitcases in the corner. “We were looking for a house in the area and we learned that the back of this small business was for sale.

The place was nice and we fell in love with it.

Furthermore, Véronique has always been tempted by these local services.

New services

If the relay retains the previous services (tobacco, games, local press, etc.), since the arrival of the new managers, the services have expanded with more choice in the grocery store. But also a new showcase which giving pride of place to local products : vegetables, fruits, wine and beer, bread, pastries, oysters from the Arcachon basin.

New merchants make sure to offer flagship products from the South-West. The icing on the cake: the acquisition of a coffee machine made available by the Malongo cafés. Reheatable meals or sandwiches are also on sale.

Happy to run a local business

It is also possible to pay your taxes, your fines, the school canteen, etc.

Patrick, who acts as a real estate agent, helps Véronique with logistics. The couple lives in the neighboring town of Bieujac; which allows him to open his business without interruption during the week. Both say they are “very happy” to work in this grocery store.

Opening hours of Relais de Castillon, in Castets-et-Castillon: 7 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday: 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
