New Call of Duty interface: a huge update is available for pre-download | Xbox

Today is a big day for the Call of Duty franchise! Indeed, Activision is preparing to deploy the highly anticipated new interface in a few hours, and the pre-download of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be able to be carried out. To prepare well, Activision offers the possibility of downloading a major update in advance on Xbox Series

Huge ‘Call of Duty’ App Update Available for Pre-Download

We have just noticed that an update to the “Call of Duty” application is now available for pre-download. We need to reserve 122.90 GB on our Xbox Series

This is possible thanks to the pre-download feature freshly introduced by Microsoft last month. So, if the “Call of Duty” application is already installed on your Xbox Series X|S, simply follow the following steps:

  • Go to “My games and applications”
  • Go to “Manage”
  • Go to “Updates”
  • Click on the “Call of Duty – Pre-Download” tile
  • Click on “Update”

At this stage, you will not notice any changes in game, since it is a pre-downloaded update, that is to say it is stored in your console, but not yet deployed in game.

We will know during the day whether this is only the download of the new interface, or whether the Black Ops 6 files are also included.

The possibility of launching the pre-download of Black Ops 6 is officially scheduled for today at 6 p.m. time, while no time has been communicated for the deployment of the new interface.

The new Call of Duty interface detailed before its deployment

Whether you play Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III or Warzone, you will need to update your Call of Duty application to enjoy it.

At launch, this brand new interface will be divided into three main areas: “Home”, “All Games” and “Shop”.

  • Welcome : The new UI features a homepage that brings together a wide variety of Call of Duty content. The Home tab presents several tiles which each have their uses:
    • Game Tiles – Unlike the old Call of Duty UI, players can now directly access the games, which have their own UI. The latest annual title, Black Ops 6 starting October 25, and Call of Duty: Warzone, are displayed in the Home tab. Other games are accessible via the “All games” tab.
    • Featured tile – This tile can feature a variety of top content, such as modes, maps, and Battle Passes, depending on what is new and most relevant at that time.
    • “What’s new” line – Similar to today’s “What’s New” tile, this tile highlights new playlists, bundles, and more. and allows players to easily access this content.
    • Last Read Tile – This tile allows players to quickly access what they have played most recently. When you first log in to the new interface, this tile is the fourth option under the “What’s New” section until you play a game in the UI.
  • All games : Switch to the All Games tab to view your full library of Call of Duty titles since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). Cross-launch titles you own, buy titles you don’t own, and manage your installs from here.
  • Boutique : This tab allows players to access the game’s Call of Duty stores and showcases other top purchasable content. The full Call of Duty stores are accessible at the game level in the UI of Black Ops 6, Call of Duty: Warzone, etc. This tab directs players to these full stores.

In deployment in several stages

Since the new interface will be available before the launch of Black Ops 6, players will see many changes at first. For these few days, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone will be the main game tiles on the “Home” tab. Modern Warfare III will retain its old user interface.

Call of Duty: Warzone will keep its original interface until the Season 1 update. The Shop tab will direct players to the Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone shops.

When Black Ops 6 launches, it will replace Modern Warfare III, making Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone the primary game tiles on the “Home” tab. Players will be able to access Black Ops 6 instantly.

Players who wish to continue playing Modern Warfare III will be able to access it via the “All Games” tab or on the “Last Played” tile.

Black Ops 6 will have its own user interface, designed to allow players to easily access the modes and content that interest them. Players will be able to access the campaign, multiplayer, and zombies mode from the Black Ops 6 UI. New updates to the Gunsmith, Playlist Selection, and Social Storefront Black Ops 6 will then be deployed.

More changes with the deployment of Season 1 of Black Ops 6

It won’t be until the very first season rolls out, after the launch of Black Ops 6, that players will be able to enjoy the full Call of Duty HQ interface. The Store tab will now direct all players to the Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone stores based on what they have installed.

A Battle Pass tab will be introduced with similar functionality to the “Shop” tab, directing players to the Battle Pass in Black Ops 6 or Call of Duty: Warzone.

With the Season 01 update, Call of Duty: Warzone will also get its own UI, with improvements similar to that of Black Ops 6.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC, and will integrate Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass at launch, a first for the franchise!
