In a forgotten match, with few chances during the 90 minutes, Juticalpa FC let the victory slip by conceding a 1-1 draw against Marathón, who saved a point from their visit to Olancho thanks to a goal of last minute from César Sevilla (89′).

Match Preview:

The match pitted two teams with pressing needs against each other: Juticalpa, who had not tasted victory in seven games, faced a Marathón team under pressure, led by their coach Hernán Medina, who absolutely had to win the match to keep his position and remain competitive in the race for first places.

Despite the poor condition of the playing field, both teams sought to impose their rhythm from the start. However, by the end of the first half the game had devolved into a slow and boring affair, with only one notable chance coming in the 11th minute when Cristhian Manaiza wasted a good opportunity against goalkeeper César Samudio. The final whistle from referee Yony Sánchez was a relief to the few spectators present, who were desperate for a little excitement.

In an attempt to fade the dreary performance of the first half, both coaches made adjustments, but until the 70th minute the match continued in the same boring rhythm, without surprises and with every effort s moving away from the two guards.

However, in the 74th minute a penalty was awarded which broke the tie, Rodrigo de Oliveira converted to put Juticalpa ahead 1-0. Just when it looked like they were going to secure a vital three points, César Sevilla came back for Marathón, leveling the score at 1-1 in the 89th minute, bringing joy to the visiting team.
