From June 6 to September 12, 2024, sixteen talented artists transform 68 Champs Elysées into a golden temple. Under the leadership of Jean-Luc Monterosso and Benoît Baume, thepicture exposition unveils unique works, specially created for the occasion, such as the glass and 24-carat gold print by the famous photographer Isabel Munoz or the innovative optical experience of the duo Graphset & Amandine Besacier through the prism ofgold. And what’s better than a snapshot ofEnzo LefortOlympic champion and passionate photographer, immortalizing his gold medal, to seal the link between sporting excellence and Guerlain gold?

But to start it is Yves Klein who opens the ball with his iconic Table d’or, while Martin Parr still plays with codes (with a hint of provocation) through his photos of gold bars in a Swiss bank. Sophie Zénon And Harald Gottschalk bring a touching environmental reflection with their golden works. Gold leaf becomes a medium for George Roussewhich creates fascinating memory spaces, and for Morvarid Kwhich applies the Japanese technique of kintsugi to photography, highlighting light imperfection into perfection.

Paul Cupidomeanwhile, captures the transience of life with flights of golden birds, while Carolle Bénitah reconstructs family memories from anonymous photos, punctuated with touches of gold. Pierre and Gilles feature a flamboyant work inspired by a 19th century sculpture, surrounded by a golden frame in glittery resin. As for Cedric Matetit captures the multiple identities of the city of Montpellier in the form of a gold lithograph coupled with a photographic print.

Thus, the exhibition explores the links between gold and memory, nature, and even modern technologies with the astonishing video of Rodolphe von Gombergh.
