After the time of the announcement, there is a month, that of the consecration. Yesterday evening, the halls of honor at the town hall served as the setting for the presentation of the Golden Marianne to Yann Galut.

This prize, founded in 1983 by the former minister, deputy, senator and president of the National Assembly, Edgar Faure, and by Alain Trampoglieri, was awarded by the latter to the mayor (various left) of . As Alain Trampoglieri, secretary general of the competition, recalled in front of around fifty guests, this trophy rewards each year the elected officials “within shouting distance” who “make good use of public money and who defend the values of the Republic”.

Yann Galut’s total commitment to the race for the 2028 European Capital of Culture has earned him this recognition. Recalling the story of this “Little Thumb on whom no one would have bet a kopeck”, and yet winner in the end, Yann Galut wanted to share this reward, a “privilege”:

“This Marianne honors me, she honors us. It belongs to all the residents of Bourges.”
