The 5th Périgord Vert careers forum was held on Thursday October 17 in Thiviers. The objective is to make it easier for young people to find work.
Che careers forum, whose notoriety is growing in the region, introduced young people this Thursday, October 17 to the professions and know-how in the Périgord Vert.
A completely free event, the aim of this forum is essential to raise awareness of the local economic fabric, the sectors and professions which are recruiting. In Périgord Vert, it constitutes an opportunity to meet young people and job seekers, and forge new synergies with other professionals.
Twelve companies financially supported the forum. The Périgord Limousin community of communes, the Business Club as well as the Mission Locale du Haut-Périgord supported this 5th edition which succeeded in attracting 850 young people present and 120 job seekers.
“Grow desires”
Martine Peretti, president of the Local Mission of Haut Périgord, supported young people aged 16 and 25 after their schooling, and sometimes even before. During the speeches, she explained her role in carrying out their projects and in choosing their direction. She received them and listened to them but never in judgment. Its objective has always been the same: to help them in all areas, whether it is finding employment and housing, or health.
It has increased opportunities for young people and local business leaders to meet during visits to workplaces. “We are proud to be able to present this forum to young people,” she stressed. Their presence and their demonstrations make it possible to make visible the richness of the professions practiced in Périgord Vert, the possibilities of working in a rural environment, the ability to flourish there and ultimately, to live in the country because this will not be possible without young people. »
Martine Peretti continued, hoping to see, thanks to this forum, “lights come on in the eyes of young people, spark desires, make contacts for a job, an internship, an apprenticeship or some information that will make its way with time. » She took the opportunity to announce to the public present that “the Local Mission of Haut Périgord has successfully passed the first stage of certification”.
