Max Verstappen will regain pole position this Saturday at the start of the sprint race, and will be accompanied by George Russell on the front row.
The Dutchman had not scored a pole since the Austrian Grand Prix where he started in the lead of the Sprint race and the Grand Prix. Lando Norris, still in the running for the drivers’ title, could not do better than fourth.
With a view to the fight for the constructors’ title, it is important to note that Oscar Piastri will only start 16th after seeing his time canceled in SQ1. Sergio Pérez will start 11th, eliminated in SQ2.
