Mohamed Konaté: The Burkinabè striker breaks a record in Russia

By scoring against Zenit Saint Petersburg, Burkinabè striker Mohamed Konaté became the top scorer in the history of Akhmat Grozny in the league. He achieved this feat in a few matches played.

He is the fittest Burkinabè striker since the start of the 2023-2024 season. For several weeks, nothing seems to stop him.

He scores goals, match after match, even when his team loses. This is the case last weekend against Zenit Saint-Petersburg where his club, Akhmat Grozny, lost 5-1.

The Burkinabè striker stood out by scoring the only goal for his team. In the 10th minute of the match, in a solitary action he played against the Zenith defense and perfectly adjusted the goalkeeper. This is his 11th goal this season in Russian Ligue 1 with Akhmat Grozny.

Arriving at the club in July 2021, the Burkinabe striker became the top scorer in the club’s history in the Russian championship. He has 30 goals in 79 matches played.

He succeeds Brazilian Mauricio who scored 28 goals in 162 games with Akhmat Grozny.

The Burkinabè international received a trophy on the occasion from his team to celebrate this feat. Mohamed Konaté, whose contract expires in June 2024, has not yet lifted the veil on his future.
