Most of the time, there is a car to be won in the event of a hole in one. This week, unfortunately for him, the sponsor was a brand of… beer. Result, the Frenchman Ugo Coussaud, author of a magnificent hole-in-one this Thursday during the first round of the Andalucía Masters, won his weight in hoppy beverage: i.e. 85 kg of Estrella Damm, the alcohol brand which sponsors the tournament.

The 235th in the world achieved his feat on hole number 8 of the Valderrama Clube in Sotogrande in Spain, for one of the last events of the season on the DP World Tour, broadcast on the channels of the Canal + group. Despite this fantastic eagle, the Frenchman only signed a card of 70 (-2) this Thursday, and is in the fight to make the cut and play the weekend.

On the French side, things are going much better for Julien Guerrier, who was leading the tournament at the end of the first round after an exceptional day (10 shots under par). Behind, Romain Langasque, in line to seek playing rights on the PGA Tour at the end of the season, got his tournament off to a good start with a -7 card. At the foot of the podium at the Olympic Games, Victor Perez, who has already completed his second round, is placed at -6.
