The Directioners are in mourning. Liam Payne, former member of the group One Direction, has died at the age of 31, announced a press release sent on Wednesday October 16. According to the first information revealed, the singer fell from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This news caused shock waves among fans of One Direction, of which the artist had been a member since his debut in 2010, after being revealed on the show X-Factor. Along with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan, Liam Payne formed one of the most popular boy bands of the 2010s, with more than 20 million albums sold worldwide.
Officially on hiatus since 2015, the members of the group have taken different directions in order to devote themselves to personal projects and their solo careers. Nevertheless, One Direction will remain a Proust madeleine for many fans, who, upon the announcement of Liam Payne’s death, may want to (re)see the concerts and the documentary dedicated to the group. Unfortunately for French fans, you will often have to put your hand in your wallet. Indeed, this second tour of the group was the subject of a recording during the concert which took place at San Siro in Milan, then broadcast in cinemas before being released on DVD in November 2014.
