A competition that came to an end for the businessman 40 years ago.

His son, who takes the reins of Mana Ito, the hydrocarbons subsidiary of the Moux group, is no less talkative. “ He was now able to be free to move and make Mana Gaz today » , smiles the latter.

A 4.4 billion francs project. 2,700 tonnes of butane are stored in this gas terminal installed at the bottom of the Hitiaa valley. Everything is secure, said the town’s resident Henri Flohr, who is pleased with the jobs provided by the company. Around twenty positions have been created, not counting the indirect jobs promised by Albert Moux.

Red bottles will be sold at 206 francs per kilo in 2025, according to Patrick Moux. Gas sphere of 5000 cubic meters for Gaz de Tahiti

Shortly after the inauguration, the boss of Gaz de Tahiti Georges Siu, eager for competition “ healthy and respectful” responded directly to his counterpart, rejecting any accusation of monopoly or abuse towards the Polynesians. “ The price of gas is completely controlled by the government, so our margins are also controlledhe assures. I cannot accept being told that we made money at the expense of the Polynesians » .

Asked about a possible reduction in Gaz de Tahiti prices, Georges Siu is cautious but “ open » . « The Polynesians, in any case, will benefit from a lower price. For how long, I don’t know. he slips. IThere are in our price, the one that is regulated, processes that are integrated into our gas terminal. We know exactly when the gas leaves our terminal, not just in tanks or bottles, there is security guaranteed for the consumer« .

Gaz de Tahiti plans to commission a third gas storage sphere with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters for 2025, which should allow it to increase its storage capacity by almost 50%.
