They are not best friends, but mother and daughter, yet they display a complicity that could deceive some. This Monday, October 14, Alexandra Lamy celebrates her 53rd birthday. To celebrate her mother’s birthday, Chloé Jouannet did not hesitate to publish content on her Instagram account. “Happy Birthday ma star”, she wrote in her story in the caption of a photo of her mother wearing green sunglasses and a faux leather bucket hat. She then adds several shots of Alexandra Lamy, notably a montage of the actress’ head appearing in the middle of the breadcrumbs. “Word game to find with gift”writes Chloé Jouannet in the caption. Do you have it? It ends with a beautiful photo between mother and daughter on a red carpet. “I love you mom”she adds in the photo before revealing an old video of her when she was little, having fun with the one who saw her grow up. A touching and emotional moment.
Last year, the duo enjoyed a weekend at the Château de Berne, in a five-star Relais & Châteaux, for the birthday of Jean Dujardin’s ex-wife. A stay full of complicity that the two women did not hesitate to document on social networks. But this is not the first time that Chloé Jouannet and Alexandra Lamy have appeared during this kind of moment. They regularly appear together. On Instagram, they don’t hesitate to show humor like when they took on the challenge of doing Dry January. Mother and daughter even have a shared tattoo. A symbol of their love, their complicity and their unwavering bond.

If Chloé Jouannet and Alexandra Lamy have always been very close, it was during a very specific period of their lives that they managed to become even more united. After her separation from Jean Dujardin, Alexandra Lamy faced numerous criticisms. She dreams of going to London to “become anonymous again” and it is thanks to her daughter that she managed to take the plunge. “I can never thank my daughter, Chloé, enough for making this decision. I wanted her to spend a year in London after her baccalaureate. But she was only in third year when she asked me: ‘Mom, why don’t we go straight away?’ tells Alexandra Lamy in the columns of Elle in 2018. After consulting Chloé’s father, Thomas Jouannet, the duo moved to the English capital and built a new life. A dream come true, she shares on the show As an aside, on Canal +. “As a kid, I had such a dream of being able to go and live, after the baccalaureate which I didn’t get, in another country. I was never able to do it”, indicates the actress. But when Chloé Jouannet decided to leave the family home in 2019, Alexandra Lamy had difficulty getting used to the situation. “It’s heartbreaking, because it was an important moment in our lives. London will remain, for us, a great breath of fresh air”she explains to 7 Days TV.

Growing up, Chloé Jouannet developed a passion passed down from her mother: cinema. She appeared for the first time on the big screen with Alexandra Lamy in 2009, when she played the role of Eleanor as a child in Lucky Luke, directed by James Huth. She also stars in the film Affected directed by Alexandra Lamy in 2022 or in Killer Coaster alongside his mother and his aunt, Audrey Lamy. Jean Dujardin’s ex-partner is proud to see that her daughter is doing so well in this profession. Before going through her first castings, she didn’t hesitate to give him some advice. As she tells it in an interview for 50’ Insideshe would have confided to Chloé: “If you want to do this job, do it. No one has the right to tell you: ‘Don’t do this, because you’re the daughter of…’ You know the advantage, it’s true that when you go to a casting, we will be curious to see you, the disadvantage is that you will have the right to a chance, so prepare yourself beforehand!”. On television sets, Alexandra Lamy does not hesitate to share her admiration for her daughter, as in 2023 in the show As an aside. She talks about having directed her as director of the film Affected. “Chloé is an actress, I had no doubt about it. I took her honestly because I knew she was capable. She’s a beautiful actress, and she’s going to be surprising! And I’m not saying not that because she’s my daughter, I really mean that.” A bond between mother and only daughter.
