It was a sporting event for around fifty pétanque players from the Hautes-Pyrénées, one day in May, at the bowling alley of the Antoine-Ménoni sports complex with a departmental championship meeting for veterans of the first division clubs on the program.

During this execrable day, we saw “the piglet which at times floated on the water”! But it was no less memorable with the participation of Pierrot Gasquet, 88 years old, who has been living in Caixon for around ten years and who can boast the status of “oldest licensee” of the Libre Boule Vicquoise.

For the veteran in more than one way, the promise was kept on site, from 8 a.m., and active participation until h hour with the victory of the Vicquois prevailing over the leaders of the Pool.

Bravo and Respect Mr. Gasquet and thank you to the Tarbes and Ossun opponents who paid tribute to him. Congratulations to Jean-Marc, Alain, Jacky, Tinote, Ficelle, Babar, Bernard for his dedication to the organization and Momond for his talents in the kitchen. Sixty meals were served at lunchtime with local products and the buffet at the end of the afternoon which earned many congratulations to the culinary brigade around the chef, and a tip of the hat to the pétanque club.

Note that, on the same day, team 3 scored two great victories in Capvern. The Occitanie veteran triplet finals will take place this weekend in Marvejols (Lozère) for Christian, Max and Fred. Finally, don’t forget that the LBV garage sale is organized under the market hall in Vic, this Sunday, May 19.
