October 16 marks the National Day to Combat Food Waste, and the SMD3 is actively involved through several local actions.
In partnership with the “Question de Culture” association, a stand will be set up at the Bergerac market, emphasizing sustainable food, the seasonality of vegetables and the reduction of food waste, in particular through the preparation of a “zero waste” soup.
The event is part of a broader awareness-raising strategy, which also takes place as part of European Waste Reduction Week, scheduled for November 16-24.
These initiatives aim to change eating habits, with educational activities and practical advice to avoid waste, knowing that in France, each person throws away on average 25 kg of food per year.
SMD3 also organizes related events, such as the “Living Soil Festival”, which includes workshops and shredding campaigns to encourage the recycling of plant waste. These actions aim to encourage more environmentally friendly practices throughout the year.
